Once you have registered your interest with us, we will invite you to come and have a look round HOPE Therapy Gardens to help you decide if you would like to join us .
Getting to know us
Your first session will be your initial occupational therapy assessment. This will be completed at HOPE Therapy gardens and will take approximately 60 minutes.
We will work with you to help you choose which goals you would like to work towards. We work holistically, and each goal is personalised to accommodate your individual needs and preferences.
Examples of personal goals:
Improve dexterity or co-ordination
Increase physical exercise and strengthen muscles
Reduce anxiety or stress
Improve social interactions
Establish a routine in your day to day life
Engage in an activity you enjoy
Your first session
After your initial occupational therapy assessment, you will then begin your 4 week programme at HOPE Therapy gardens.
Group sessions will have a maximum of 3 participants in the group.
1:1 sessions will be you and an Occupational Therapist. A care giver or family member can join us if this will make you more comfortable.
In these sessions we will use therapeutic gardening activities to work towards achieving your goals.
Examples of gardening activities:
Planting, tending to and harvesting plants
Construction of nature habitats
Nature based crafts
Improving connections with nature in our sensory garden
Your 4 week programme
After your 4 sessions you will have another individual occupational therapy assessment to review your progress and goals.
You can then decide whether you would like to continue for another 4 weeks with us.
